Once you have been accepted onto Homesearch you can apply for vacant properties. Vacant properties are advertised every week, starting on Thursday and ending the following Tuesday. The available properties can be seen by selecting the Property Search option above or by logging in to the website. To log in, select the My Account option above and follow the instructions. Available properties will also be advertised at libraries and council offices, including on special Internet kiosks.
You can only bid for properties that are an appropriate size for your household. For instance, a single person cannot normally bid for a three bedroom house. Full details can be found in the Homesearch Allocations Policy (click here), but as a general guide please see the table in step 1 above.
Each property advertised will have a photograph (if available) and details on the location, rent and service charges, type of property and other information about the home, such as whether pets are allowed. Symbols are used to help you quickly see information about the property. Here are some symbols that may be used on adverts:
